AllergyCertified’s mission is to help people all over the world prevent getting one of the most common chronic diseases; skin allergy or as your doctor would call it; contact dermatitis. In order to do so we certify products that get into contact with your skin such as shampoo, soap, lotion, sunscreen, detergents, cleaning products, diapers, quilts, make-up and many more. We also certify raw materials. This is done in order to make it easier for the producers to choose skin friendly ingredients.
For a product or a raw material to be certified, there are certain steps that has to be followed. First of all the producer has to send a complete recipe with INCI names, CAS numbers and concentrations to AllergyCertified. At the offices of AllergyCertified a toxicologist will go through the recipe and make a scientific evaluation of the product or raw material. This is the first step. Then the producer has to accept that AllergyCertified once every third year will send an external test company to make a sampling of the certified products. On top of that each producer who has certified products or raw materials also has to attend the yearly AllergyAward in order to get the latest update from the scientific world about contact dermatitis.
