How to get certified

Certification

How-to

To certify a product with AllergyCertified, our team of toxicologists and pharmacists conducts a thorough risk assessment. To do this, we need detailed information about the product’s content. You’ll need to complete an Application Scheme and a Formulation Template for each product, and upload them to Redmine – the secure system we use. All information is treated as confidential and used solely for the allergy assessment. If needed, we’re happy to sign a confidentiality agreement.

The benefits of certification

AllergyCertified helps brands stand out by showing their products are skin-friendly. Consumers can instantly recognize that a product is checked on allergens, carcinogens and hormone-disrupting chemicals. Since 2015, 3000+ products have been certified across 94 countries. The certification is based on assessments by independent experts.

With more than 27% of the European population allergic to one or more ingredients in personal care products, the certification offers clear value. It builds trust and helps brands capture attention during the critical two seconds in which many purchase decisions are made.

Costs

This may be lower if you submit multiple similar products, or higher for complex formulations with many different raw material suppliers.

Once your product is certified, you pay an annual fee to use the AllergyCertified logo. This fee is 0.45% of the turnover on the certified product. For example: If your turnover on a certified product is €1 million, the annual fee is €4,500.
